I AM C.O.N.F.I.D.E.N.T Mentoring Plan

Capable. Optimistic. Nice Fabulous. Important. Determined. Empowered. Noble. Talented.

Junior High School girls are generally between the ages of 10-14. These years serve as a connection between adolescence and youth. During the adolescent years girls start to notice physical body changes, which can be both exciting and troublesome because not all adolescent girls develop or mature at the same rate. These years can leave young girls with deep emotional baggage. The EM-PWR foundation seeks through educational mentoring to promote self-esteem and self-confidence. The overall goal is to help young girls entering high school to feel empowered, confident, and motivated. Building the confidence of young girls equips them to be academically successful.

Young women ages 14-18 entering high school are exploring life as they search to become self-reliant while establishing their individual identities. Young women in this group often find themselves needing help and guidance while navigating independence. Young women in high school begin to explore ideas about education, careers, love, and relationships. The EM-PWR foundation seeks to help young adult women develop life skills as well as become role models and mentors to those in the Connection phase. Some of the areas of the mentoring plan include goal setting, college prep, trade school, military, job application process, and how to dress for events. Developing decision making skills and learning to set goals helps to enhance performance in school, encourage self-confidence, as well as build problem solving skills.
