Hello, my name is Dr. Tracy Smiley-Thomas. I am a proud woman veteran of the United States Army and currently I serve as President of EM-PWR Inc. The purpose of our foundation is to support and encourage, adolescent girls (10-14), young women (14-18) and 18 and over women, by providing them with result driven and age-appropriate tools. The tools provided will assist our participants with transforming their lives. Our goal is to assist our clients to live a life that is driven by purpose and fueled by determination.
The EM-PWR foundation will provide mentoring, educational workshops, and group activities with a goal of promoting self-esteem within adolescent girls as they navigate through some of the most challenging years of their lives. Assisting young girls heading into high school feel self- empowered, confident, and motivated is critical to boosting performance in school, and developing problem solving skills.
The EM-PWR foundation will utilize educational and mentoring sessions to help young adult women (14-18) to develop life skills, which will enable them to become role models and mentors to those in the Connection group or (middle school) phase. The areas, which we will work with high school girls include, but are not limited to, goal setting, college prep, trade school, getting a job versus entrepreneurship, preparing for job interviews, and life skills. The ability to develop decision making skills and goal setting has proven to boost performance in school.
The EM-PWR foundation will assist women 18 and older women through educational opportunities, economic development, mentoring and coaching. The goal being to assist women from being stuck to becoming empowered. A primary goal of working with seasoned women is to assist them with understanding exactly what's keeping them feeling STUCK or hindering their progress. EM-PWR will also help women to understand the benefit of self-care and making themselves a priority. At EM-PWR we believe that it's important for all women to understand that it is ok to say "NO", because saying no to things they truly don't want to do makes room for things, they should YES to. The EM-PWR foundation will provide women who did not graduate from high school with educational opportunities to obtain their GED, which will open many long-term sustainable possibilities.
